... Then I heard the voice of the Lord say, "Whom shall I send? and who will go for us?" And I said, "Here I am. Send me!"
I was always interested in the legal field and my last degree was in criminal justice which I believe provides the foundation for understanding the individuals I serve. I have worked in the legal field since the mid 1980's. I became a volunteer of Yokefellowship Prison Ministry in November 2008 answering the call when Wayne Benjamin, the Founder of Yokefellow Lehigh Valley, was on WBPH with Joan Huber requesting volunteers for transporting returning citizens to the Tuesday night Timothy Program Bible study. I thought, "I guess I could do that, it could be interesting." Little did I know what an impact that would have not only in my life but those around me.
In October 2011, I became Board Chairman and resigned in December 2014 to focus on my "calling" of re-entry and started my own non-profit in 2015. Then I started going back into Lehigh County Jail to facilitate Bible studies. In December 2015 I was voted back on the Board. When Charles L. Goodge, Council Director, resigned in January 2016, I was voted in as interim Council Director of Yokefellowship Prison Ministry - Lehigh Valley Council and in May, 2016 was voted in as Council Director. I resigned December 31, 2018, to focus on re-entry projects with a non-profit I started in February 2015 but put on hold when I accepted Council Director position with Yokefellowship.
I believe the ministry should not only be involved in Bible studies in the jails but also re-entry and how God can make a difference in the lives of those seeking to change upon re-entering society. These women and men will not only be changing their lives around but also family members and it will have a ripple effect to everyone they come in contact with.
I have an open door policy and welcome the opportunity to speak with you individually about how you can become an integral part of prison ministry. Please call my cell @ 484-226-7358. I am available 24/7.
